The outfit for your new home

Since 1826, with five generations of master ceramists, Giovanni De Maio has continued with unchanged passion to produce ceramics and decorations of exclusive beauty, precious finishes for the home and other environments. The history of De Maio began two centuries ago, when the founder Giovanni De Maio from Ogliara in Salerno started working with clay bricks. Ogliara, a historic place for terracotta production, is an eighteenth-century village on the slopes of Mount Stella, which rises above the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast.
Since the 1950s, Giovanni De Maio has been a symbol of Vietri artistic ceramics, favoring an entrepreneurial mindset projected towards the future in the creation of ceramic surfaces aimed at high-level technical and aesthetic performance, as well as customization. In the 1980s, the family heir, Domenico De Maio, together with his three sons, Giovanni, Elio, and Antonio, founded a new workshop in Fisciano, which is still the company's headquarters today.

Since as far back as 1494, six centuries of experience and ceramic excellence have passed, handed down from generation to generation by the De Maio-Cassetta family, which continues today in the workshops of Ceramica Francesco De Maio, to promote the culture, tradition, and art of Vietri through the use of ancient techniques that make these ceramics unique and prestigious. Since its founding, the company has been renowned for the production of hand-decorated majolica tiles, which preserve the historical memory of the ancient Vietri riggiola (a Neapolitan dialect term for tiles), sometimes even reinterpreting it in a more modern way. Majolica tiles made by hand are the expression of this history, and each one has a story to tell.
Each majolica tile is unique, a work of art.
